About the project
The client’s products include AI agents and real-time assistants used daily by sales and client-facing teams of large enterprises. You will join the product engineering team and deliver features end to end: Node.js services and APIs, React interfaces, and integrations with LLMs and external systems. The team is also moving shared capabilities onto a common platform, so you will help migrate product code onto it and raise the quality of the codebase along the way. The engineering team is distributed across India and Southeast Asia, so substantial overlap with Singapore working hours is required.
Responsibilities
- Delivering product features end to end: backend services and APIs in TypeScript/Node.js and user interfaces in React.
- Integrating LLM APIs, AI agents and external services into the product, with attention to reliability, latency and cost.
- Designing data models and queries, and working with PostgreSQL, caching and queues.
- Improving code quality across repositories: static typing, linting, automated tests and code reviews.
- Helping move product code onto shared platform services together with the Staff Platform Engineer.
- Owning features in production: monitoring, debugging and fixing issues.
- Working closely with Product and engineers in India and Southeast Asia on scope, estimates and trade-offs.
Requirements
- 5+ years in software engineering, including several years of production TypeScript and Node.js on the backend.
- Solid frontend experience with React and TypeScript.
- Experience designing REST or GraphQL APIs and working with relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar).
- Hands-on experience with cloud (AWS or GCP), Docker and CI/CD.
- Habit of writing tested, typed and maintainable code; experience improving a large or legacy codebase.
- Ability to take a feature from requirements to production with little supervision.
- Upper-Intermediate or higher English and substantial overlap with Singapore working hours.
As a plus
- Building products on top of LLMs: prompts, tool calling, RAG, evaluation.
- Real-time features: WebSockets, streaming, event-driven services.
- Multi-tenant B2B SaaS.
- Python.
- Practical use of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, or similar).
