About the project
The client is looking for an experienced software developer to manage and enhance their internal infrastructure and critical operational systems (such as “Cashier,” automated workstations for store management, reports, and data analysis subsystems). The system requires robust remote access handling, deep database maintenance, and seamless version migrations.
Responsibilities
- System Architecture & Implementation: Design, develop, and implement complex information and computing systems tailored to retail enterprise needs.
- Database Management: Conduct database design, configuration, optimization, and support. Maintain high-resolution data integration and plan migration strategies (e.g., legacy to modern database versions).
- Module Development: Support and extend core subsystems including retail cashiers, administrative workstations, reporting, and business analytics.
- Legacy Code Modernization: Review, refactor, and update existing legacy codebases to ensure stability, speed, and long-term scalability.
- Integration & Security: Set up authorized remote data access protocols and maintain robust data backup and recovery mechanisms.
Requirements
- Experience: 6+ years of commercial software engineering experience, preferably focusing on corporate enterprise or retail management solutions.
- Delphi Expertise: Advanced technical proficiency in Delphi (including multi-version development, object-oriented design, and framework utilization).
- Oracle Database Command: Strong expertise in Oracle databases, complex PL/SQL scripting, performance tuning, query optimization, and architectural data mapping.
- Systems Knowledge: Strong familiarity with relational database management systems (RDBMS), data structures, and database administration tools.
- Language Skills: English language proficiency is not required for this role.
As a plus
- Experience with additional databases or systems management tools (e.g., Interbase/Firebird, MySQL, or shell scripting).
- Familiarity with network administration or virtual workspace environments (VNC, remote setups).
- Background working in retail or e-commerce data structures.
