Technical Delivery Manager


About the project

The client’s application is a powerful Email Marketing Automation platform that allows creating, AB-testing, and conducting rule-based email and SMS marketing campaigns. These campaigns can be based on intricate rules and AB-tested using two or more different custom emails. The user can compose a custom email based on one of the multiple prefabricated templates or create a custom template using the platform’s Template Editor functionality. Additionally, they can illustrate the created emails with images from the image repository of the application.

In addition to providing the ability to segment subscribers for targeting purposes manually, the application can automatically attribute them to one of several groups based on the information submitted by these subscribers during the subscription procedure. It is also possible to set the system to send subscribers a group-specific email after they’ve been attributed to a group. This can be done either immediately, or at a predefined later date and time. The application also includes the Dashboard tab that is used to display campaign-related statistics. The software is integrated with the Magento eCommerce platform and several applications of Rule’s clients by means of an API that enables efficient data exchange between Rule’s platform and the above systems.

About the team

The team consists of three backend Laravel developers, four frontend Angular developers, a DevOps Engineer, two email template developers, a manual QA engineer, and a project manager.

Responsibilities

 

Delivery Ownership & Business Alignment

  • Own and manage product and development delivery in alignment with the company’s business plan, ensuring timelines, priorities, and outcomes support strategic goals.
  • Take full responsibility for delivering results, including planned objectives, actual outcomes, and continuous improvement.

Planning, Forecasting & Analysis

  • Develop and maintain delivery plans, forecasts, and timelines, regularly comparing planned vs. actual results.
  • Analyze deviations, identify root causes, and define corrective actions to ensure delivery predictability and performance.
  • Continuously assess delivery health and proactively adjust plans based on data and insights.

Reporting & Transparency

  • Prepare and present clear, structured reports covering delivery status, forecasts, risks, upcoming activities, and progress toward goals.
  • Ensure stakeholders have full visibility into current performance and future expectations.

Goals, Follow-up & Execution

  • Define clear delivery goals and success metrics, ensuring consistent follow-up and accountability across the team.
  • Track execution against goals and ensure commitments are met.

Team Leadership & Performance

  • Lead, motivate, and support development teams to ensure consistently high performance.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the team remains engaged, focused, and aligned with business priorities.

Technical & Delivery Enablement

  • Act as a strong technical counterpart to the engineering team, facilitating effective decision-making and removing delivery blockers.
  • Ensure delivery processes and practices support quality, speed, and scalability.

AI Enablement & Innovation

  • Drive the adoption and integration of AI-driven practices and tools within the development organization.
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI to improve development efficiency, delivery predictability, product quality, and team performance.
  • Lead change initiatives related to AI adoption, ensuring teams are supported through transformation.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring alignment on delivery plans, progress, risks, and outcomes.
  • Translate business goals into clear delivery priorities and execution plans.

Requirements

Delivery & Outcome Ownership

  • Proven experience as a Delivery Manager, Project Manager, or similar role with responsibility for aligning product and development timelines with the company’s business plan.
  • Strong focus on actual outcomes, forecasting, and performance analysis rather than process-only delivery.

Planning, Forecasting & Reporting

  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and maintain delivery forecasts, analyze deviations between planned and actual results, and define corrective actions.
  • Experience producing clear reports covering current status, upcoming plans, activities, risks, and progress toward goals.
  • Strong follow-up discipline to ensure commitments are met and goals are achieved.

Leadership & Team Performance

  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of building, motivating, and maintaining high-performing development teams.
  • Ability to ensure consistent team engagement, accountability, and delivery excellence.
  • Experience fostering a results-oriented and collaborative culture.

Technical Background

  • Solid technical background (e.g., previous experience as a software developer, DevOps engineer, or technical lead) enabling effective collaboration with engineering teams and informed decision-making.

AI & Innovation Mindset (Strong Plus)

  • Experience implementing or driving AI-related initiatives within a development organization.
  • Ability to identify opportunities where AI can improve delivery efficiency, development processes, or product outcomes.
  • Proven track record of introducing new technologies or ways of working at scale is highly valued.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present plans, forecasts, analysis, and outcomes clearly to stakeholders.
  • Confident in aligning business expectations with delivery realities.

Language Skills

  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
